Image width and the distance available fix the throw ratio, and the throw ratio narrows the projector and lens options. This is settled before brightness.

Lumens are read against screen size, screen gain and how much light stays on. A bright figure on a spec sheet does not settle a bright room.

What does a laser light source change?
A laser projector has no lamp to replace, reaches full brightness quickly and holds its brightness more evenly over its rated life. Rated life and brightness figures are the manufacturer’s and depend on the operating mode chosen.
How bright a projector do I need?
It depends on the image size, the screen surface and how much ambient light stays on. Send the room dimensions and a photo with the lights as they will be during use, and we can put a brightness range against it.
Can the projector go anywhere on the ceiling?
Within the throw range for the image size, and within the lens shift of the model. Outside that, keystone correction costs resolution and sharpness. The placement guide shows how the range is calculated.
Is an ultra-short-throw projector better?
It removes the ceiling mount and the shadow problem, but it needs a flat screen and a level surface close to the wall. Suitability is room-specific; the UST guide lists the checks.
